Harry Reid cut a deal with John McCain to end the Senate showdown over filibusters that yielded an immediate victory as 17 Republicans joined them to break the filibuster of Obama’s CFPB nominee.
After suffering their obstruction in the 111th and 112th Congress, one would think Reid would get a clue, and a spine, and do his job as Majority Leader and end Republican abuse of the filibuster.
Republicans seem intent on jumping the shark. This time they are staking a lot of political capital on a battle to disable the CFPB and its director Richard Cordray.
With Americans getting so much protection from a couple of Obama recess appointments, it is no wonder Republicans are livid.
