In fact, we are stronger than the German people showed themselves to be. They capitulated in the majority. America is not and will never be Hitler's Germany. We are better, stronger and different. We have inherited a legacy of not standing for the rights of anyone being taken from them. Trump miscalculated. He thought we would not rise in defense of the immigrant. He miscalculated as did all those weak-kneed oligarchs. He has torn down the government, caused millions to lose their jobs, decimated our economy and instead of looking inward and not caring about his other victims we stand up and stand strong for our values and our democracy and the Constitution. We bounce back. Every morning as I commute to work I think and here we all are again the glue that keeps this nation running despite being invaded by a mad man. We are stronger than anything he can do to us. And he is a coward. He waivers, he shifts, he is afraid.

Sadly, Trump has many people around him who are capable of planning the disappearance and detainment of judges, lawyers and anyone else who obstructs the implementation of his Executive Orders. Vought and Miller likely have sufficient logistical skills and hatred to be a Himmler duo for Trump.

Sadly, people can be smart and evil. I don't know if Hitler was smart, but he was able to communicate with the people of Germany. He was able to connect with them and win their loyalty. He knew how to manipulate their emotions, to motivate them, and give them hope while fomenting hatred towards "others".

People who wanted power gravitated towards him and worked with him. Himmler was responsible for organizing the centralized camps. Many experienced German generals worked for him as well.

Unfortunately, despite Trumps obviously incompetent Cabinet picks, there are many people like Stephen Miller and Russel Vought who work and have worked since the defeat in 2020 to plan how to implement Project 2025. Trump is merely the front man adored by the base. The people behind Project 2025 will still be there even if Trump is removed.

The child and her non-criminal mother both deserve to live in the US with the father. The crime in this case, as in so many others, is that of Trump’s team in ripping apart the family, abusing data stolen by DOGE, and illegally seizing and transporting mother and child.

I agree. There is another child, 11 years old. The mother took her children with her when she went to check in with an immigration official. She was following the law. ICE was not. This entire thing is a clusterfuck brought about by Trump’s hatred of immigrants.

So, just some info: Lev Parnas has warned we need to do something now, and the only real thing we could actually achieve would be to turn 6 to 7 republicans away from the OT. He’s giving his list of the most likely to be in this group on Unleashed next week.

And yay for lawyers and judges working their asses off to stop the thuggery. 🇺🇸

I think that if Trump continues to ignore Supreme Court orders, if he continues to attack the Federal Judiciary that eventually his conservative Supreme Court will invoke the 14th amendment and have him removed from office. The more he tries to destroy, the more educated, democratic loving people and institution will fight back. It's a ridiculous statement to say that 5 million protesters are being payed! Seriously? We aren't getting paid. And we are protesting. And Federal Courts are getting pissed!

Explain how the supreme court can use the 14th ammendment. Only congress has that power.

I had read in a post on here that when Colorado Supreme Court ruled that Trump was guilty of an insurrection and it went to the US Supreme Court, they could have ruled he had engaged in an insurrection and could have used the 14th amendment to remove him from office. I am not a lawyer. But from what I've read of it, he did engage in an insurrection. If violence erupts as the result of his actions and organization, it could be used. At this point that is not far fetched.

And Elon Musk, an unelected unit nominated or approved by congress, head of a Government Agency, is currently conducting an insurrection. It may not be done with traditional guns, but it is about destroying our government, destroying all oversight, and destroying the reputation of America around the globe as well as destroying the global economy. DOGE is an insurrection!!! One that tRump has initiated and one that should result in tRump's removal from office by the Supreme Court if Congress continues to refuse to do their sworn duty of " protecting and defending the constitution of The United Staes of America from all enemies, both foreign and domestic!"

I often wonder how much of this he can, or even tries to, put together. First of all, he’s always been about as sharp as a bowling ball; and secondly, if he indeed has dementia, he is quickly losing the ability to reason. I see him as just stumbling from one thing to the next, tripping over everything in the dark of his deluded mind, and just trying anything and everything to become somehow relevant.

With all the “this is it” moments happening daily, it’s hard to know what’s what these days. I’ve noticed here on Substack you can poke around til you find a glimmer of hope, or you can just as easily find the Chicken Little versions. (No disrespect intended). Just frustration.

But no matter what, expectations to “primary” them out in two years always strikes me as thoroughly unrealistic. Look at the damage they’ve done in these 100 days, I realize the pushback is underway but imagine what they might do with 575 days. I am hoping the answer is “not much more” but I get the feeling that’s naive.

“And you’ll never have to vote again!”

The mid-term elections have nothing to do with electoral “primaries”. If the Democrats can take the majority in the House or Senate, they can stall legislation that is in Trump’s favor, and also pass legislation that can stop or reduce his power. If they win both chambers, depending on the GOP and political climate they might possibly impeach and remove Trump. The midterms offer a range of opportunities from minimal to significant in terms of stopping damage. The US is a vast, complex, and fragmented country. While that can make feeling truly unified a bit difficult, it also makes it much more difficult to take over and control in the way that Trump and the broligarchs fantasize about.

It would be his style to go after a judge (female strongly preferred) and claim that the Judge was protecting those “darned illegals “. And of course it had to be a relatively low level Judge so his base could no on the train to El Salvador. Trump has played this kind of game for decades.

I don’t understand how people can be so vile & devoid of any kind of integrity as to even consider voting him in again. Did we not lose enough people from covid because of his disregard for his duty as president? And what about the insurrection - rhere’s a recording of him summoning a mob who killed a capital police officer! So that was perfectly fine for a treasonous political party! Every one of them that supported that brazen criminal should be tried for treason & get capital punishment if found guilty - because they were fine with their depraved president that they put in power to kill innocent American people serving their country. Why shouldn’t all of the MAGGOTS pay for their crimes & be removed from society! There is absolutely no way that they can ever be trusted in our society ever again!!!

Trump is at Herbert Hoover level public support and for basically the same reason - stubbornly sticking to stupid plans that harm Americans' health, safety and welfare. Hoover was an educated man who apparently meant well but did not have a clue about how to govern properly.

Trump is not an educated man, nor does he mean well. However, unlike Hoover, Trump has built a cult-like following that is still keeping him afloat. Republicans in Congress who could defy him won't out of fear of being primaried. Maybe they should have thought about how gerrymandering was both a shield and a sword before they were so gung-ho to use line-drawing to eradicate Democrats from power in certain places.
