Hello

When they say mobilize voters, what do they mean mobilize. What does mobilize mean? What kind of action would that look like? If people were mobilizing - that’s my biggest problem with everything that’s going on - people say action, action action but they’re not specifying what it is that we need to do.

I go to the protests, . I’ve been at City Hall, town halls, city demonstrations, writing letters, calling senators, talking to people. Specifics please about what needs to be done.

We are definitely in a constitutional crisis. I am concerned that they’re gonna want to try and rewrite the constitution itself article V.

A free and fair election is going to be a challenge due to voter suppression and SAVE act, if it passes senate. It was in House passed.

League of Women Voters, I’m with you and I can get people to go with you as well. Where is the Plan of action. Lay it out and let’s roll.

Since they are the League of Women Voters, and they are mobilizing for the 2026 election, the action is voting in House and Senate races.---Jason

From Robert Hubbell’s Today’s Edition: “The New Yorker recently published a story about how “dissidents” can resist authoritarian regimes. See The New Yorker, So You Want to Be a Dissident? The article describes the research of Erica Chenoweth, a professor at Harvard University. Per The New Yorker, Chenoweth analyzed 600 mass movements that resisted authoritarian governments:

Chenoweth found that when at least 3.5 per cent of the population participated in nonviolent opposition, movements were largely successful.”

The bigger crowds, the more phone calls, the neater signs on street corners — with the League on our side, strength in numbers will be a very loud voice!

Thanks for doing the math 😁 If any Republicans are reading this they’ll appreciate it as well because they don’t know how to do math. Only Trump does either tariffs.

In this case we could ask ourselves if the very word “dissident” is language of capitulation. Pro-constitutional actions are actions aligned directly with oaths we have taken to the United States of America. We pledge allegiance to the flag, not a regime.

Ask ourselves should this article have been titled: “So you want to be a modern American hero”

True Patriots loyal to the Constitution of the United Stated of America who work towards denying power to lawless rogue actors who have been tasked with faithfully executing the laws on our behalf, yet who are in consistent violation of our constitution, are serially vandalizing our democratically established agencies and institutions, are increasingly in defiance of our Supreme Court and who daily lie to the American people are not “dissidents”, they are heroes.

Of the people, for the people, by the people.

E Pluribus Unum. Together modern American patriot heroes can work to throw off the yoke of tyranny now, before it is fastened.

There is still way much more to do. Congress can defund the contract the administration signed with El Salvador & bring all the prisoners housed there back to the U.S. to file their own Habeas Corpus suits. We can demand that Congress people do their jobs and take back control of government funding!

If you have not been receiving communications from The League of Women Voters (LWV), then contact them. You have a computer. Google them. They'd love to hear from you. I received their emails at least weekly, as well as snail mail. Good luck.

Fantastic news, I am very proud of the LWV because my mother supported them for most of her life back in the twentieth century and now I am happy to support them in the 21st century! Right on LWV!!!! 😆👍🏼

They used to moderate the presidential debates. Each candidate got equal time to speak and the debates were civil. Unfortunately, the media deemed them too boring. You know no snarling, yelling, stalking. They were on topic and serious questions about governance. I mean, really, who can stomach that? Policies? Positions? Knowledge? Holy crap! Do they think we’re eggheads?

Agreed. We need to get a majority back somewhere. The only way to do it democratically is to get people to vote the fearful repubs out of office. Go LWV!!!

Best idea I’ve heard this week! I’ve been praying someone or some group would call this crappy administration what it is. They flaunt the Constitution and the Rule of Law flagrantly every day. We need to mount the action to take back our country right now. This is a start!!!

We can’t afford to wait until next year! What can your league do now to stop this train wreck of an administration?

Expand full comment
Sarah Jones & Jason Easley's avatar

NOBODY CAN DO ANYTHING THIS YEAR!!! People need to understand this because of the way our constitutional and electoral system is built, and the fact that Republicans have total control of the federal government, the only check is to remove Republicans from power, unless the courts step up and start sanctioning members of the administration for defying court orders, Republicans can only be removed from power next November. The power now is with the people in the form of popular protest. No one else can fix this.---Jason

Absolutely right, the first time you can really challenge is the Mid Terms.Meanwhile, it would help if the courts held individual members of the Administration in contempt of court and then sent them to jail. That might make a few of them think twice before disregarding the rule of law.

Many good, strong organizations and individuals are litigating this administration across their wide-spread crime spree, and causing them delay, frustration, and further over-reach. And The People are even occasionally winning. We can be proud, and we can make calls and write letters, protest, help decipher msm news to confused folks, and volunteer to help vote more of The People to get elected. Let the LWV begin!

I recommend joining your local LWV chapter. Typically there is a state league organization, such as League of Women Voters of Ohio. Then there are regional organizations, such as the Greater Cleveland League of Women Voters. Local chapters are next, often identified by city.

LWV has recently published "Impact on Issues - A Guide to Public Policy Positions of the League of Women Voters", which is available in paperback on Amazon for $6.99 with free delivery.

LWV conducts voter registration drives year round. They also work on petition drives for ballot issues, e.g. protection of reproductive rights and drawing of fair legislative districts.

They prepare voter guides for national, state and local elections. They hold candidate and ballot issue forums. They observe and report on local government meetings. THEY NEED VOLUNTEERS FOR ALL THESE PURPOSES.

The website for the national LWV is www.lwv.org. There is a link there about joining the League and finding your local league.

As a Country, We have depended way too much on the voting leadership of Black women. Their active fight for voter's rights, not to mention actually showing up at their polling stations, is an example We should all heed. It's time for all women to acknowledge that they have the power to fight this misogynist and malignant narcissist and return Their Country to its democratic roots.

Hopefully, we men will follow in Their footsteps.
