House Judiciary Committee ranking member Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) hammered Republicans for claiming to support the rule of law after Trump pardoned 1/6 insurrectionists.
Jamie Raskin’s deadly jibe at the right on the committee is dead on. Only idiots or those scared to death of Trump’s reprisals will ignore the rationality of Raskin’s comments. Note: I refuse to call the opposition Republicans. That ship capsized and sank years ago.

But then why did Dems in Congress not challenge the electoral college votes on 1/6 when it was clearly written in the constitution 14th amendment section 3 that an insurrectionist could not hold office?? Peaceful transfer of power to an authoritarian lunatic is not a good thing for us as a country.

To those who liked my comment, it is hard for me to have spent 28 years of my life teaching students about our Constitution, all of the freedoms and protections it affords us, and now feel like our Nation is literally spinning and everything I have believed in has been torn apart by one man who never served this country. How can someone have been elected to be POTUS who would not be allowed to teach in a public school? Why was he not forced to stand trial for his crimes and sentenced like any other American citizen?
Because half of the country is too stupid to see the con. In my small town, a third of the voters supported the felon. I have to restrain my anger every day, not knowing if I'm dealing with one of them.
Let’s remember that only 32 percent of the American electorate voted for Trump and Vance: 64 percent of the electorate actually voted last November. Of those who did vote, 49.8 percent voted for Trump. So, rounded off a little, that is about 32 percent of the electorate. There are many reasons why this many people voted for Trump but I do not believe that all of the 32 per cent of his voters elected him to disregard the Constitution, violate the law, or throw the government into chaos. And even if they did, they do not come close to representing a minority of the electorate even if they did win a substantial minority of the votes actually cast last November.
