All of Trumps enablers in office need to be held to account as well. Mtg and others “insider trading???””””

Completely agree they must be held to account. Particularly the ones who made most noise and committed most crimes and who shouted the loudest against a different view than their own. AND the LIARS.

Actually it is illegal. The only reason we don’t see much enforcement right now is the current Republican Party has eviscerated the ethics enforcement process…https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/STOCK_Act#:~:text=It%20was%20signed%20into%20law,Congress%20and%20other%20government%20employees.

We do not have much time to save the republic. The Dems must start identifying and talking to Republicans who might not really want a fascist government. We need 5 or 6 Republican Reps to impeach and 21 Senators to convict. Because I do not trust Fetterman. This will send a strong message to Vance to not keep going down this road!

I heard this morning on Scripts News that the child who is in charge of the defense department continues to use his private phone to brag about what he knows about our defense. We really need to impeach him and his staff soon.

Every single person who was sent to that prison, including the woman who were sent back to their country of origin should be returned to America and immediately given the due process that our constitution guarantees. This whole situation is beyond comprehension, and this regime must be held accountable for crimes against humanity.

I'm fine with all of the disappeareds getting on track for US Citizenship. I also want to highlight how dumpy pants wrote another EO rellin Afghans here under TPS and other categories to leave within a week. These are people who spent more than a generation helping the US military in Afghanistan from 2003-2021. Lest we forget, we promised them safety and admission to the US for their service. We owe them. We owe the Kurds. We promised Ukraine. We offered TPS to South Sudanese. Trump abandoned them all, sided with the taliban, erdogan, chaos, and his papa putin. Well now, whose side are we on?

I would like to agree. I worry our democracy, our economy, our relationships, our system of checks and balances are being destroyed so fast and severely. Hopefully the corrections are deep and fast as well. Senators who confirm unqualified leaders say they are afraid? They must move through fear to real actions for our country or step down and stay afraid, and let someone else step up!

America has been through these periods before. History tells us that when democracy is revitalized, it does come back stronger. Democrats are going to have an opportunity to rebuild what has been broken, or to use a phrase from a former president to buid back better.---Jason

If they’re too afraid to do their job, too afraid to fight for our country, too afraid to do the right thing, then they can and should resign, America doesn’t need them! The senators who voted to confirm F-47’s monstrosity of a dimwitted cabinet deserve to be thrown out of congress as well as a kick in their collective asses!

I have deeply admired Jamie Raskin for many years. His honesty, his sincere concern for our Americans, his deep dedication and constant endeavors to protect our precious Democracy is inspiring.

Yes, I share the belief we will come through this Trump Hell. It will take every ounce of strength and constant acute demonstration on the part of each and every one of us to achieve.

Then we must seriously plug the holes in our Rule of Law and Constitution to prevent this occurring again.

Prayers for all of us!

We are in this together!

We are the Majority!

Let’s keep showing it!

And rewrite and eliminate bad laws that should be ended once and for all: Comstock Act, Sedition law of 1798, anti-union laws, etc.

Again looked it up.

Agree!

An unpopular President, John Adams faced increased scrutiny over the signing of the Sedition Act.

In one of the first tests of freedom of speech, the House passed the Sedition Act, permitting the deportation, fine, or imprisonment of anyone deemed a threat or publishing “false, scandalous, or malicious writing” against the government of the United States. The 5th Congress (1797–1799), narrowly divided between the majority Federalists and minority Jeffersonian Republicans, voted 44 to 41 in favor of the Senate-passed bill. Federalists championed the legislation fearing impending war with France and out of the desire to hold the majority in Congress and to retain the White House, then occupied by Federalist John Adams. In an era when newspapers served as political parties' chief organs, the Republican press was particularly vicious in its attacks on Federalists and the Adams administration. “Liberty of the press and of opinion is calculated to destroy all confidence between man and man,” noted one of the bill’s supporters, John Allen of Connecticut. “It leads to the dissolution of every bond of union.” Republicans defended the First Amendment protecting free speech and press. “What will be the situation of the people?” James Madison of Virginia demanded. “Not free: because they will be compelled to make their election between competitors whose pretensions they are not permitted by act equally to examine, to discuss and to ascertain.” Signed into law by Adams on July 14, the law proved immensely unpopular with the public and the President lost re-election to Thomas Jefferson in 1800. Under the incoming Republican administration, the Sedition Act eventually expired on March 3, 1801; however, arguments made for and against it shaped subsequent debate about constitutional protections of free speech.

I looked it up:

I ultimately understood what you are saying!

Named for Anthony Comstock, a zealous crusader against what he considered to be obscenity, the act criminalized the use of any post office to send, among other things, any “obscene, lewd, lascivious, indecent, filthy or vile article, matter, thing, device, or substance” or any “article or thing designed, adapted, or intended for producing abortion, or for any indecent or immoral use.” The law effectively prohibited the sending of any text or image then considered to be obscene or pornographic

as well as any device or medication, or any information about such a device or medication, that could facilitate or result in abortion or contraception.

Individuals convicted of violating the Comstock Act could receive up to five years of imprisonment with hard labor and a fine of up to $2,000.
