I like his thinking and plan of action. If something is good for the people they will support it. But otherwise the republicans are on their own. Good for you Mr Jeffries

Finally! I’m a little tired of taking the high road and then the repugs take advantage of us. I am fed up with our country being held hostage by a group of extremist republicans. Let’s get in the mud if needed. This is too important. This is the right strategy.

We need to get dirty and honestly, who better than us older women. We're invisible. Like Kathy Bates said on Matlock.

We need to get involved locally in our school boards and local government. Push the boundaries and hold people accountable for what they say and do. Both parties!

I dont think there is anything dirty about this. I am glad to see Hakeem Jeffries step out of the shadows and hold the line. The Democratic leadership has been been too conciliatory too long.

I'm also an older female on social security. I looked up my representatives in my red state of Ohio. Ugh. (I just moved here to be with family. I wish I was still in NY. ) The congressman and governor are both Republicans, 1 to replace Vance in the senate vowing to do Trump's bidding. I want to email them about my stance but have no idea what to say. I've never been in politics until Trump. He's definitely off the chain this term. I'm extremely worried and horrified by what he's doing!

Fellow Ohioan here. We have a lot to do in this state. Ohio is one of the most gerrymandered states in the country. Our reps don't listen to us because they don't have to! They ignore the people. They ignore the courts. It's time for democrats of Ohio to get a spine and start fighting! We let Sherrod Brown stand alone for too long and they finally took him out! So we can either give them the state and slink away, or start acting like we belong here!

Ladies, if you are able, you need to go physically to their office, it will make them know you're serious if a lot physically show up. Still call and demand they do their job.

Burn the phone lines up.

Look online for what to say, there's lots of creators that have posted recommendations.

Hold the line. Trump believes he holds all the power as evidenced by the Executive Orders he's signing and statements he's making. Democrats don't give in. Gather GOP members to show Trump that representatives speak for the people. Stick up for the working class, the middle class, and seniors who paid their share of their wages so they have something to retire on. Trump only like the rich. Well, the rich should pay taxes like everyone else. Then we won't need to raise taxes on the lower tax payers or take Social Security and Health insurance away. Fight for the people, hold the line.

I am hoping that behind the scenes that Dems are starting to put together a strong case for impeachment. One that will definitely result in a guilty verdict and get the Convict out of the white house.

Impeaching Trump won't get rid of vance or johnson. I'm almost more scared for a Vance administration.

The people he is in with are more organized and don't have rotting brains.

Exactly. Drumpf is acting like a dictator Day 1, Day 2, etc. He blusters and already lost (at leat til Uncle Tom figures out a way to toss the entire Constitution) an important case. However Moses **Hold my peen** Johnson and ADolf VanCoMycin are quieter but in a way more deadly. Watch what they DO. not the dog n pony show we are seeing now. That is mostly distraction as Elonia and Spanky salute and dance. Behind the scenes things we can't anticipate are happening. With NO ONE to stop them.

Obviously the Republicans don’t give a shit about their middle class and senior MAGAS. It is up to Hakeem to keep his caucus in line, make no move, support no vote the Rs put up, and protect the policies they worked so hard over the years to put in place. If Democratic Congressmen and Senators don’t stand their ground, and oppose Trumpism starting now; they don’t need to come campaigning for our votes or send endless texts for money in 2026.

The Dems MUST up their message game. We MUST be unified and get the message out as to WHAT WE STAND FOR. That's one reason we LOST in November. If we don't learn from that we are doomed to be back benches forever.

Gary Beatty's avatar

As soon as Trump takes it away, Dems will know what we stand for. We will have two years to get people excited to take him and his bought and paid for congressmen, down. By then they will have learned what Trump has done to our position in the world, and be ready to fight to re-establish us.

We lost the young male voters and hispanic men. We need to give young men. We need to LISTEN to what they need economically, and socially. They are being radicalized on social media, especially YouTube, TikTok and IG.

We can get a lot of agreement across the board that the Billionaires are killing the working class. We need to explain what our policies can do to turn things around. We need to use simpler language. Shorter word count. Sad but true.

Great idea. If a large percentage of people read on a fifth grade level, we need to simplify our message and make sure our message gets across the idea that the Dems are the party of the people, not the radical elite as the Republicans have framed us!!

Right!!! Take it to the people every day and let them know what is happening and what the Dems plan is to hold the line. We are depending on them to be front and center in this fight! That’s how we take back the Congress and the Senate!!! Thank you Hakeem for leading us forward!!!

If would be nice if we could but the truth is that the nominees WILL pass with a party line vote. Dems are by and large doing a good job of airing the dirty laundry of the candidates put forth.
