I agree. What would the Repugs do if the shoe were on the other foot? I wonder if that ever came up when a Dem. governor held a seat open for an abnormal amount of time? I can't recall, but my guess would be that they'd go ahead with an election much earlier, and if the opposing party didn't show up, they'd lose. It's a little of my wishful thinking.
