Anyone who faults Attorney General Merrick Garland for slow prosecution should view the entire story as presented at Just Security which has all of the documents pertaining to the case except two, the letter from Attorney General Garland to Representative Bennie Thompson, Chair of the House of Representatives Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol requesting the Committee's transcripts of testimony and the reply from Chairman Thompson that refused the transcripts until they had finished their work. This delayed Department of Justice action by at least six months during which Special Counsel Jack Smith was appointed. Further, we have the appellate delays caused by Trump of the lead case, that in which he would have been proven to be a co-conspirator. Candidate Trump clearly appears to be a co-conspirator as described in the 165 page brief Government's Motion for Immunity Determinations and that Motion which is now readily findable and readable in WikiSource should be spread as wide as possible before 20 January so that the entire Nation knows that the co-conspirator wants to pardon his fellow conspirators and that he should not do that. January 6th must never recur; it should never be forgotten.
