Not really - and the law is not political - we have the rule of law, it just takes time and time ran out thanks to all the stalls that Trump through in front of it using the monies of his generous campaign donors.
We have conservative Supreme Court justices who are definitely political with political agendas!! As a Black man living in AmericaтАж I've never put my faith in the law! Now we get to see who the law doesn't apply to.
you're right - and we couldn't have seem more obvious examples as frump's clear racism over these past years. Combine his awfulness with musk's South African apartheid thinking (the reason he and his mama came to the US - because Nelson Mandela became President of South Africa)...he throws HIS money behind an already all-in white supremacist dolt who'll do his bidding. However, frump is SO stupid, if he continues to imagine he's the 'be all and end all' (he does seem to think he is 'the chosen one'), those billionaires who bought the election for him are going to tire quickly of his utter stupidity. There's nothing to stop ANY of them from spilling the beans about who and what he really is (although most of us already know)~it's his magat cultists who need to open their glued-shut eyes.
As a lawyer who has fought and lost for equality and against discrimination, I can appreciate your distrust of the law and probably also for lawyers. You point out correctly how politicized the Courts are currently and at the highest level, which has resulted in a sea change in the law with a far right SCOTUS. We have seen in the last 40 years a deliberate, determined resolution by Republicans to stack the courts with far right judges. That points to the necessity of fighting back through the same political process. Unfortunately, the extreme right has even been more spectacularly successful in creating an authoritarian racist presidency than in molding an extreme right wing judiciary.
He's not wrong. Garland had 4 years to make the case and failed all of us. Dems hav lost their base
This is about the law, not about who won an election.
