It’s past time. The resistance must be both unified and strong.

If you read my stories, they have been pushing back. The last two words you said are important. They must be unified and strong.---Jason

I read your story and understood that the Dems “pushback “ has been on going but it is projected as conciliatory and pardon me for saying educated. This messaging must reflect power and confidence with examples side by side with the GOP reality. They have the gunslingers and the marvel comic message which seems to sell to his followers so Dems message must reflect power and confidence that change is coming! Buy a news channel if needs must. Find a billionaire or two and get into the mud with them!! We will FIGHT for our democracy, even if a little mud sticks to us!

Also start appearing on independent news networks. Forget legacy media. Also find some who can go on Fox like Pete B did. That audience is not all maga listeners.

Pete B should be the news face of the Democratic party!

And what about the next thing he does? We need them to be more forthright and stopping the Nazis in office.

Democrats push back on Trump ALL OF THE TIME, but if you watch cable news or only pay attention to the mainstream media, you never hear it, unless you read about it here. Do you watch cable news? Almost every person who says I'll believe it when I see it, watches cable news. Whether or not they do enough, or have a unified message is debatable, but the idea that Democrats don't push back is pure bullshit.---Jason

Expand full comment

I don’t watch a minute of cable news, I pay attention to investigative journalists who are in the know. Democrats are not pushing back typically, that’s how they lost the election because they’re weak and they don’t fight for Americans.. We’ll see how they do now and if they allow this felon in office to get what he wants and destroy America.

Expand full comment

If you consider “pushback” the drivel that comes out of Schumer’s mouth every so often? That’s not push back. That’s them talking out of their ass, doing their traditional show, but really not fighting the good fight. Because democrat leaders are already getting paid, almost like they’re getting paid to lose. They will continue to get paid while Americans truly suffer.

You can help by writing and calling your congress persons!

I agree they have been pushing back, but I have to remind people that we don’t have control of the Senate or the House and yes Leader Hakeem Jeffries has kept the caucus united and yes the Senate is united but I must tell people to stop looking at corporate media they are only looking out for their own interests

When you have a president who does not operate through traditional and proper channels like Trump, the Democrats, who think that they must use the proper channels to deal with someone like Trump, is not really trying to do anything at all. Because we all know that that won’t solve the problem. Traditional means will not take care of a felon president, ripping, proper channels apart.

So I always ask this question and never get an answer. What, exactly, do you want them to do? Now, I believe there should be a lot less talk about compromise and a lot more talk about obstruction but that's just talk. What, exactly, do you want them to do. I mean if I took a problem to my boss he would expect some kind of a solution, not just whining. So, yeah.

Expand full comment

Oh Linda, you have really swallowed corporate propaganda.

Expand full comment

Really, your boss would expect you to solve the problem whatever it is? You expect a voters to have the solution of how to run government? No. They’re the leaders. And if they knew how to lead, then they would know how to solve problems. Because that’s part of their job not ours. Same with any manager, unless it’s personal conflict with other people. That, would be a solution in involving those involved.

Now is the time for defiance and retribution, Not playing nice nice bipartisanship games! EVIL can't be met halfway!

100% spot on. There can be no bipartisanship with Nazis. Which is basically what they are. There’s no negotiating, or common ground. They must be slammed down at every turn. Period, full stop. 😎

I like your comment. There is no longer decency, civility or integrity. Fight. Get mad and fight to protect our democracy before we have nothing left to protect. Get senate in line to oppose ALL cabinet nominees. No more free passes. And the Dems that won’t cooperate? Primary them!

The fact that not all dems voted against Kristi Noem and other nominees for the cabinet of horrors shows they are not united and they are caving. They should be all over media (ALL media including social) decrying every step of this administration, because thw country is being destroyed, it is NOT an exaggerationY

I hope this is for real. We should be done playing nice.

Exactly, Lori. You don’t play nice when they’re trying to turn the country into an authoritarian police state. 😎

Don’t bring a knife to a gunfight. The current President is a criminal and scoundrel. Make the GOP accountable for the actions of their President and let the American people (voters) know the GOP have already forgotten their own campaign promises and oath of office.

The problem is that losing control of Congress means that at that level, they don't have many opportunities. However, the government funding and debt ceiling are two huge ones coming up.---Jason

They lost Congress and the presidency because of messaging (or lack thereof), so they should have learned the lesson. They should flood social media, podcasts, youtube with sounding the alarm, otherwise social-media-brainwashed population with the attention span of 30 sec will blame all this on them and will not rebel.

I agree messaging and unification are important, but don’t forget Elon had access to Starlink and he cheated for trump’s win to get regulations off his back. Elon is a Nazi and is meddling all over the world in elections.

Yes, I agree, but because of that the dems have to be even more active to overcome it, Musk is the part of the regime.

THE Democrats need to be willing (as the army says-“to die on this hill”) - meaning that every conceivable option is taken to keep Trump from giving billionaires and the management of large corporations, a tax break as he has promised to do

It’s about time! Do they need to see a reincarnated Hitler in front of their eyes to see what’s happening???!!!!

I already see that reincarnation of Hitler. Elon too! He grew up in a home that followed and believed in the Nazi regime.

They need to actively oppose in the House and Senate. They also need to communicate what they're doing and why it benefits everyday Americans that they do so, clearly and simply, especially on social media and podcasts. They should livestream regular weekly or daily town halls featuring their most effective communicators like Bernie and AOC.

Do you watch cable news? Because that is the only reason that I can think of why you would think they aren't pushing back. Democrats are suing Trump for his illegal and unconstitutional actions. Democrats in the House are refusing to do anything that would held Trump pass his tax cuts for the rich. They've been doing a lot. The Senate has been soft, and I hope they wake up now. Anyone who thinks they haven't been doing anything hasn't been getting good information--Jason

The issue isn't that no one was pushing back. The problem is that there was zero—absolutely zero—coordination as a party.

There have been completely random mixes of frantic and lethargic action and/or commentary by individuals, cliques, and (less desirable) PACs to do SOMETHING. But, the chain of incompetence running without a cohesive clue based upon (quotes are mine): "well... that couldn't really happen b/c, well, there are laws and guardrails" combined with ZERO SUCCESSION PLANNING FOR ANY POSITION highlights a party that was asleep in its own sunsine far, far too long.

That fall from the bed to the floor got painful when the Good Ol' Pranksters moved the Dems beds to the edge of the balcony. But the party never stopped asking for grassroot money from a fertile constituency that rightfully MUST see and hear UNIFIED DIRECTION AND PLANNING before their wallets will open again.

The DNC failed the entire nation and there's yet been no responsible unifying effort to resolve it. MAYBE, UNTIL NOW. DSCC and DCCC—and I have pounded both on this—each have got to unify within and together if anything will move forward.

Turncoats out of Pennsylvania also need to see a reckoning by the (yet to be) unified party leadership.

And, yes, all of it has to be done amidst multiple firefights by the procedural terrorists of the GOP just as the British endured Hitler's daily bombings of London.

I am calling Schumer and Jeffries every day to tell them to refuse to co-operate and refuse to participate in any votes, hearings and to bring everything to a halt. No federal employee buyouts or purges, no refusing Congress’s mandated spending, no Russell Vought or any of the other dangerous Cabinet pick’s confirmation hearings. I started this morning and will continue until I see results.

Do it. No debt ceiling increase to pay for billionaire tax cuts.

It's past time for the Dems to get "woke!" Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O'Donnell pushed back last night on MSNBC. And Jim Acosta quit CNN, who were punishing him for speaking truth. They are deep in the pockets of the pols, and on every program have right wingers like David Urban to give "fair and balanced" opinions. As Rachel would say: "Bull pucky!" I am done with CNN and the mainstream outlets. Glad that MSNBC anchors are allowed to speak truth.

Speaking of MSNBC Hosts,

I am very much disappointed that Ari Melber still thinks he should be “fair and balanced” when what’s actually going on is blatant disregard for the rules of law -

is it too much to ask to just tell the TRUTH about what’s going on???

and that goes for all MSNBC hosts?

I don’t watch Ari Melber. Joy Reid, Alex Wagner, Rachel and Lawrence O’Donnell speak truth.
