AOC is not alone. None of us will forget what Schumer is doing. He is showing what I and my friends in Indivisible believe: that he is displaying "learned helplessness," and a lack of necessary courage. He is 78 years old and frozen in time. He needs to go!

Exactly. I don't think he's malevolent and even he was miffed by this DOGE stuff, but he's too much of a relic of a bygone era when Democrats were super wishy washy, centrist, and fetishized bipartisanship to a fault. The age of "Dems Playing Nice" is over! Time to get tough!

It's not to late to call him and demand he not turn yellow for the orange one.

It’s too late now to change the outcome, but I called every single one of the senators who voted yes, and told them they are traitors. Sent Schumer an email as well as leaving a voicemail. Couldn’t get through on the congressional switchboard numbers so I looked up each senators offices in their state and called each one until I was able to get through.

Schumer and Donald Trump goes way back. Donald at one point contributed to Schumer’s election. I have always felt Schumer was involved in helping Melania Trump obtaining the EB-1 visa. AKA Einstein Visa, which is reserved for immigrants with "extraordinary ability" and "sustained national and international acclaim, people who are highly acclaimed in their field. For example: Pulitzer prize winners, Oscar, respected academic, researchers, and Olympic winners. Personally I do not feel dating Donald Trump or the type of modeling she was doing at the time would be considered,

extraordinary abilities

John Mahoney's avatar

I don't call him a traitor, I think these people who have been in government so long, they simply can't see what's going on. They believe as I do that democracy will stand, but unlike me, I want it to stand right now, not down the road 30 years. Biden was like this, he simply could not see Trump for the threat he poses. Garland, the same way. These people are wealthy, safe, they aren't being attacked. We need people in power who remember what it feels like to have a hammer hanging over you. To know your government is not your friend but your enemy.

Expand full comment
Heather Elowe's avatar

I agree, I really don’t think they recognize the immediacy of the threat, somehow they are so sure that there will be an election in 2026 and that politics will go on and they will turn the house back to the Dems. Just the fact that they are banking on a fair election in two years shows how disconnected they are from reality. See link.Between 35 and 40% of project 2025 has been completed and there’s a 180 day deconstruction Goal. Giving MAGA free license to do irreversible damage for six months is unconscionable— every day is another nail being driven into the coffin of the Constitutional republic, our rights, and the checks and balance system!! https://youtu.be/cdg5YFwNayQ?feature=shared

I hear you. My problem with him is this. On Monday he said he couldn't support the bill written by the GOP because of the damage it would do to the country and he was looking for a 30 day CR. He could have also indicated that he would look at other options and talk with the house member. The Democratic needs a spoke person to deliver their messages because Schumer is very bad at delivering their message.

As an elected American🇺🇸lawmaker, Schumer loyalty, in no uncertain terms, should be with the country he took an oath to represent and protect. Donald in my opinion, has serious dirt on Schumer. Something is not right. Why suddenly would Chuck Schumer, made 180 degree turn in his decision on Friday. It showed in his plastic smile

While falsely explaining why his vote would suddenly be in support of the elected bullying Orange Donald spending bill. Schumer is supposedly the Senate Minority Leader? Not anymore in my opinion. He should be voted out. He is now useless coward.
