AOC is not alone. None of us will forget what Schumer is doing. He is showing what I and my friends in Indivisible believe: that he is displaying "learned helplessness," and a lack of necessary courage. He is 78 years old and frozen in time. He needs to go!

I am also 78(this week) and I am against Schumer and other Dems who rolled over and gave this CR to Musk and Dump!!

Exactly. I don't think he's malevolent and even he was miffed by this DOGE stuff, but he's too much of a relic of a bygone era when Democrats were super wishy washy, centrist, and fetishized bipartisanship to a fault. The age of "Dems Playing Nice" is over! Time to get tough!

It's not to late to call him and demand he not turn yellow for the orange one.

Yeah about that. His senate voicemail hung up on me, only after several attempts to get through to it. It felt intentional.

Well, here's another way to contact the guy. Post your message under the "Budget" heading... https://www.schumer.senate.gov/contact/message-chuck

I did earlier this morning. Do we have a list of other potential defectors that we can call/email/message?

ItтАЩs too late now to change the outcome, but I called every single one of the senators who voted yes, and told them they are traitors. Sent Schumer an email as well as leaving a voicemail. CouldnтАЩt get through on the congressional switchboard numbers so I looked up each senators offices in their state and called each one until I was able to get through.

IтАЩm from NC. They sure donтАЩt have a problem asking me for money for out of state candidates. They can listen, too.

I called.. not sure it does any good though. I am totally fed-up, disillusioned, disheartened, frustrated! Why so much concern about people being angered by a potential government shut down?? WhereтАЩs the concern about losing our GOVERNMENT? Where is the logic??

Exactly! If his logic was so solid, why wasnтАЩt he able to convince all the other damn senators who voted no?

Schumer and Donald Trump goes way back. Donald at one point contributed to SchumerтАЩs election. I have always felt Schumer was involved in helping Melania Trump obtaining the EB-1 visa. AKA Einstein Visa, which is reserved for immigrants with "extraordinary ability" and "sustained national and international acclaim, people who are highly acclaimed in their field. For example: Pulitzer prize winners, Oscar, respected academic, researchers, and Olympic winners. Personally I do not feel dating Donald Trump or the type of modeling she was doing at the time would be considered,

extraordinary abilities

Holy shit! "reserved for immigrants with extraordinary ability" in no way applies to Melanoma! She is the most embarrassing, grifting first lady in my lifetime, and I am 85 years old.

Also she is a high school drop out and was never even a top notch model! Nothing to offer other than nude photos and after over 30 years she still doesnтАЩt speak descent English so she certainly isnt bright enough to be necessary!

You can say I am snarky, but she had extra-ordinary abilities. However, not the kind debated when the EB-1 was created. Putin with his recent photo release revealed some of her talents!

I agree with you about the age thing. Not a good reason to denounce someone. But I am tired of Democratic leaders not standing up and taking a risk for their principles. It is going to get tough. But, Trump and Musk are attacking Medicare, Medicaid, trans people, immigrants, our neighbors, our allies We need to stand up to this and let them know no way, not now, not ever. .
