Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene (R-GA) is demanding that the potential House majority pass her bill that essentially blocks kids from gender transitioning.
Greene tweeted:
In the Republican controlled majority, we must pass my bill, the Protect Children’s Innocence Act, to stop so called “gender affirming care.”
Puberty blockers and cutting off children’s body parts is not affirming, it’s child abuse.

Greene is attacking care that helps young people support and affirm their gender identity. The type of care that Greene wants to ban helps to reduce anxiety and depression and promotes physical, emotional, and behavioral health.
Rep. Greene is attacking trans kids under the pretext of protecting them from what she thinks is child abuse. The kind of surgery that Greene referred to is rarely provided to people under the age of 18, so children are not having genital surgery.
Marjorie Taylor Greene is pushing legislation to deny medical care to trans kids. House Republicans will spend their time in the majority if they achieve it, proposing right-wing extremist legislation that is entirely out of step with the American people.
There are no scientific grounds for what Greene is proposing. She wants to harm trans kids because they are trans. Her bill is discriminatory and would set American rights back decades if it became law.
