Rachel Maddow Connects The Dots On Trump And Espionage

Rachel Maddow went back five and half years to discuss the early warning signs about Trump and espionage.

Video:

After discussing Mike Flynn and that scandal five and half years ago that gave the nation its first clue on how Trump would handle national security, Maddow said:

It turns out there are years and years and years of ramifications of electing somebody who, from the very start, was keeping espionage prosecutors busy here at home. I mean 5 1/2 years down the line from those first blood-curdling headlines about what’s going on with this president and national security. 5 1/2 years after they hired him a national security adviser even though they knew he was under federal investigation as a potential foreign agent. 5 1/2 years down the line.

That Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn has been pardoned by Trump after he plead guilty to lying to investigators with his contact with a different hostile government and they’re going to try to recoup tens of thousands of dollars that the Russian government played to Michael Flynn that he never declared.

Rachel Maddow was right. There are consequences to putting a person who cares so little about national security that his first national security advisor was a person who was under federal investigation for acting as an unregistered foreign agent.

What kind of person still hires Mike Flynn?

The same kind of person who oversaw a centralized effort to appoint a slate of fake electors and gain access to voting machines in swing states. The same sort of person who is at the center of a criminal investigation for election meddling in Georgia.

The type of person who steals classified documents lies to the government about turning them over and stores them in the basement of his private club.

It has been five and a half years since the American people were warned about Donald Trump.

Anyone who would hire a foreign agent as their national security advisor would also steal classified documents because national security means nothing to them.
