Trump tried to intimidate Marie Yovanovitch while she was testifying, but his plan completely backfired.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) responded to Trump’s hamhanded witness intimidation, “But you saw it today, witness intimidation in real-time by the president of the United States. Once again, going after this dedicated and respected career public servant in an effort to chill her and others who may come forward. We take this kind of witness intimidation very seriously. ”

Chairman Schiff is sending a clear message to Trump. Impeachment is not the Russia investigation. There will be consequences for witness intimidation. Those consequences include an article of impeachment on obstruction.
Trump thinks that he can shut down impeachment by intimidating witnesses, but the president is only making the investigation bigger and making himself look guilty in the process. Trump tried to play the bully, but the gambit has immediately gone sideways on him.
Chairman Schiff isn’t going to tolerate witness intimidate, as the more Trump tweets, the deeper he digs his own impeachment grave.
