Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said that Trump is more than welcome to come and testify before the Intelligence Committee at the impeachment hearings.
Pelosi said when asked about Trump’s “due process” rights, “The president can come — if he has a case to make, does he want to come speak, does he want to present in writing or speak to the committee about what might be exculpatory for him? He has that right to do that. Nobody, nobody, the president — the president is not above the law. The president will be held accountable, and nobody has a right to endanger whistleblowers. That’s the system I will defend, and the American people, the American people understand that.”

Speaker Pelosi raised a great point. There is nothing stopping Trump from testifying before the committee, submitting written testimony to the committee, or most importantly, allowing White House officials to testify on the Ukraine call/policy.
If Trump did nothing wrong, then have Mick Mulvaney testify. Trump should not be directing John Bolton not to appear. Trump could direct a variety of White House officials to testify.
Trump has rights, but he has decided to stonewall the investigation instead of using them.
The president and his party are complaining about due process while refusing to participate in the investigation.
Pelosi is daring Trump to testify and if he really believes that he is his own best advocate, he should take her up on her offer.
