Mick Mulvaney

The Impeachment Investigation Just Came For Mick Mulvaney

The impeachment investigation wants Mick Mulvaney to appear for a deposition on November 9, because Trump’s chief of staff is at the center of the Ukraine scheme.

Rep. Adam B. Schiff, the Chairman of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Rep. Eliot L. Engel, the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney, the Acting Chairwoman of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, sent a letter to Mulvaney stating:

Based on evidence gathered in the impeachment inquiry and public reporting, we believe that you possess substantial first-hand knowledge and information relevant to the House’s impeachment inquiry.

Specifically, the investigation has revealed that you may have been directly involved in an effort orchestrated by President Trump, his personal agent, Rudolph Giuliani, and others to withhold a coveted White House meeting and nearly $400 million in security assistance in order to pressure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to pursue investigations that would benefit President Trump’s personal political interests, and jeopardized our national security in attempting to do so.

Trump has declared that all of the members of his cabinet are “immune from congressional subpoenas. (They aren’t). Impeachment investigators are probably going to have to haul Mulvaney to court to get his testimony or find him in contempt of Congress.

Mulvaney already publicly admitted the Ukraine quid pro quo.
Democrats aren’t backing down, and it would be better for Mulvaney to sit for private deposition than having to face the entire country on national television at a public impeachment hearing. If Trump is innocent, and the Ukraine call was perfect, Mulvaney should be running to Congress to testify.

Mulvaney is hiding, but Democrats are turning up the heat to get him to testify.
