Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) delivered an unhinged rant on the House floor calling Trump impeachment a cult and was cut down by Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA) who was shot by Jim Jones’s followers at Jonestown.
Nunes accused Democrats of trying to overturn the 2016 election, and said, “What we’re seeing among Democrats on the Intelligence Committee down in the SCIF right now is like a cult. These are a group of people loyally following their leader as he bounces from one outlandish conspiracy theory to another. And the media are the cult followers permanently stationed outside the committee spaces pretending to take everything seriously because they too support the goal of removing the president from office.”

Rep, Speier responded on Twitter:
Rep. Speier knows first hand about cults. Rep. Speier described to CNN after the congressional baseball game shooting what happened to her at Jonestown, “I was shot five times, and I was on that airstrip for 22 hours without medical attention. I had those moments to think about the value of life — whether or not it was going to continue — and what I would do with it.”
Rep. Nunes got smacked down because he is the one who is acting like he is a cult. Devin Nunes is pushing conspiracy theories ginned up by a corrupt leader who he blindly follows. Trump isn’t a president. He is a cult leader who is driving his party and his followers to their own demise.
