John Bolton Blows The Whistle On Trump And Giuliani’s Ukraine “Drug Deal”

Former National Security Advisor John Bolton called what Trump and Giuliani were doing in Ukraine a “drug deal” and was so alarmed that wanted White House lawyers notified.
The New York Times reported:

The aide, Fiona Hill, testified that Mr. Bolton told her to notify the chief lawyer for the National Security Council about a rogue effort by Mr. Sondland, Mr. Giuliani, and Mick Mulvaney, the acting White House chief of staff, according to the people familiar with the testimony.

“I am not part of whatever drug deal Sondland and Mulvaney are cooking up,” Mr. Bolton, a Yale-trained lawyer, told Ms. Hill to tell White House lawyers, according to two people at the deposition. (Another person in the room initially said Mr. Bolton referred to Mr. Giuliani and Mr. Mulvaney, but two others said he cited Mr. Sondland.)

It was not the first time Mr. Bolton expressed grave concerns to Ms. Hill about the campaign being run by Mr. Giuliani. “Giuliani’s a hand grenade who’s going to blow everybody up,” Ms. Hill quoted Mr. Bolton as saying during an earlier conversation.

Rudy Giuliani as a human hand grenade who takes out his allies, is a perfect description of the situation. When John Bolton is the voice of the reason in an administration, it is a signal of how far off the rails the situation has become. Bolton was also the same guy who tried to tell Trump that it was a really bad idea to hold a summit with the Taliban before 9/11.

The fact that Trump elevated Giuliani and let him run an impeachable shadow effort in Ukraine after he bungled his way through the Russia investigation speaks volumes about Trump’s consistent rewarding of corruption and incompetence.

Giuliani is a human hand grenade, but it is Donald Trump who pulled the pin and blew everybody up.
