Trump Personally Ordered Ambassador Recalled Because She Wouldn’t Pressure Ukraine To Investigate Biden

Trump personally ordered the former US ambassador to Ukraine removed after Rudy Giuliani complained that she wouldn’t go along with pressuring them to investigate Biden.

The Wall Street Journal reported:

President Trump ordered the removal of the ambassador to Ukraine after months of complaints from allies outside the administration, including his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, that she was undermining him abroad and obstructing efforts to persuade Kyiv to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden, according to people familiar with the matter.

The recall of Marie Yovanovitch in the spring has become a key point of interest in the House impeachment inquiry. A whistleblower complaint by a CIA officer alleges the president solicited foreign interference in the 2020 elections by pressing Ukraine’s president in a July 25 call to pursue investigations, including into the activities of Mr. Biden , a Democrat who is running for president.

One of Marie Yovanovitch’s top priorities as ambassador was fighting corruption in Ukraine. If Trump’s goal was to fight corruption, there was no reason to remove Yovanovitch. The former ambassador would not go along with Trump’s Ukrainian shakedown, so she was recalled. The phone call transcript, whistleblower complaint, texts, and Trump’s tweets all have provided a damning mountain of evidence for impeachment.

Donald Trump didn’t recall the ambassador because she was doing a bad job. He recalled her because she was doing her job and refusing to participate in Trump’s criminal scheme to recruit foreign interference in the 2020 election.

Trump betrayed his country, and the evidence is piling up right before the nation’s eyes.
