CNN has refused to air an ad from the Trump campaign that pushes the baseless conspiracy theory about Joe Biden and Ukraine.
In a move that is sure to ratchet up tension with the White House, cable news channel CNN is declining to run a new Trump 2020 presidential campaign ad, citing falsehoods and the ad’s open attacks on network stars.
….
“CNN is rejecting the ad, as it does not meet our advertising standards,” a network spokesperson told The Daily Beast. “Specifically, in addition to disparaging CNN and its journalists, the ad makes assertions that have been proven demonstrably false by various news outlets, including CNN.”
Here is the ad:

The ad is full of false and misleading claims about Biden and Ukraine, and it was appropriate for CNN to reject it.
The other networks should follow CNN’s lead and refuse to show ads that can’t pass a fact check. One of the avenues that has allowed Trump to spread his lies is that networks and stations have looked the other way while pocketing cash to air ads that they know are not factually accurate.
When media outlets air ads that intentionally deceive voters, they help Trump undermine democracy by creating a less informed electorate.
CXN said no to Trump’s lies. Other networks and media outlets must do the same.
