Pelosi Smacked Down Trump And Told Him To Obey The Law To His Face

Last updated on September 25th, 2023 at 08:55 pm

Trump tried to cut a deal with Nancy Pelosi on the whistleblower, but the Speaker told the president to obey the law.

NBC News reported on the closed-door Democratic caucus meeting before Pelosi’s announcement:

She also outlined a phone call today that she had with the president that was very interesting, Ari. I got a readout on that. That the president actually said to Nancy Pelosi , hey, can we do something about this? Whistle-blower complaint. Can we work something out? And she said, yes, you can tell your people to obey the law. So she quickly swatted that down and made it clear that it is full steam ahead. Now, it is unclear, though —

Don’t know what specifically set up the call, but we do know that there was a call between the two and in the call Donald Trump used language that we’ve heard him use before in terms of asking the speaker what we can do about this whistle-blower complaint. How we can possibly work something out. She swatted that down.

Sources told PoliticusUSA the same story about the call between Pelosi and Trump, and we can confirm the details and that the call took place.

People who have integrity don’t make deals with presidents who are breaking the law and trying to make their problems go away.

The call reveals that the Ukraine scandal and the immediate threat that Trump poses to national security moved Pelosi to act. Trump’s crimes aren’t in the past. They are ongoing, and for the good of the country, this president must be held accountable.
