Civil rights icon, Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) powerfully called on the House to protect democracy by beginning impeachment proceedings against Trump.
Rep Lewis said on the House floor, “We tried every other path and used any other tool. We will any find the truth unless we use the power given to the House of Representatives. And the house alone, to begin an official investigation as dictated by the constitution. The future of our democracy is at stake. There comes a time when you have to be moved by the spirit of history to take action to protect the integrity of our nation. I believe, I truly believe, the time to begin impeachment proceedings against this president has come. To delay or to do otherwise would betray the foundation of our democracy.”

The dam has broken. The floodgates are open. The Ukraine scandal was what it took to get more Democrats to move toward opening an impeachment investigation. Something big is happening.
This may end up being a historic day in the United States of America.
A select committee on impeachment appears to be coming soon.
Trump’s days of obstructing investigations are coming to an end. House Democrats have had enough. They are not going to let Trump run out the clock until the 2020 election. Whether or not Democrats actually impeach Trump is a still yet to be determined in the future, but the gloves are coming off and a full-blown impeachment investigation is going to be launched.
When John Lewis speaks, the soul of the House moves.
