Trump continues to use the power of the federal government to insist that he was right about his inaccurate forecast that Hurricane Dorian would hit Alabama.
Here is the statement from counterterrorism advisor Rear Admiral Peter J. Brown:

Trump isn’t going to let this go.
He spent his day on Thursday issuing tweets, that have grown progressively more insane, defending his false claim that Hurricane Dorian was going to hit Alabama. Any other president would have admitted their error and moved on. No one would have cared, because everyone in the country is focused on where the hurricane is actually doing damage in the Carolinas.
One gets the sense that if Trump drop a nuke on Dorian and reroute it to Alabama, he would do so in order to proclaim that he was right all along.
Trump’s small mind is incapable of focusing on big pictures. Donald Trump has no interested in the presidency or doing his job. His presidency has been years of pointless cruelty, pain, destruction, and failure.
The statement that was issued by Rear Admiral Brown was a misuse of the presidency. Executive powers don’t exist in the Constitution so that they can be used to create cover stories for presidential mistakes.
The bigger picture isn’t that Trump keeps beating the dead horse of the Dorian Alabama forecast, but that he is willing to abuse the power of his office to soothe his fragile ego.
