If Trump knew anything about our system of government or had read the Constitution once, he would know that the census is constitutionally mandated. It can’t be delayed. It is not triggered by executive action. Trump can’t delay the census.
Trump’s tweets were an admission that his administration doesn’t have the time to argue the census question and get a judgment. The deadline for the census forms is the end of June. The Supreme Court made it impossible for the Census citizenship question to be included in the 2020 Census.
Donald Trump’s dream of rigging the House of Representatives was dealt a crushing blow by Chief Justice John Roberts and four liberal justices.
