The Trumps Think That They Are America’s New Royal Family

The Trumps are using the UK trip to promote themselves as America’s political royal family.

The Trumps Think That They Are American Royalty

The New York Times reported:

On this visit, another family opportunity surfaced: The Kennedys have long occupied the American political culture as the unofficial royal family, but this week, the Trumps appeared to present themselves as the 2019 version.

“He’s surrounding himself with his family in this kind of certainly royal family, prince-and-princesses way,” Gwenda Blair, the author of “The Trumps: Three Generations That Built an Empire,” said in an interview. “Just as traditionally crowned heads surrounded themselves with their progeny, he has surrounded himself with his progeny.”

Privately, White House officials say that some of the Trump children, particularly those working in the White House, see themselves this way. One senior official, who did not want to speak publicly about internal planning, said that Mr. Kushner and Ms. Trump in particular had grown more emboldened with their requests to be accommodated at official events.

The Trumps have been acting like royalty long before their trip to the UK. Donald Trump has a view of presidential power that includes deeming himself above the law. He has abused his presidential power to get his national security risk daughter and son in law top security clearances. The Trumps act like the law doesn’t apply to them, which is an easy attitude to understand when one considers that they have spent decades getting away with various crimes.

America doesn’t have a royal family

The Trumps obviously thought that rubbing elbows with the royal family would elevate them and be good for their brand but watching Trump and his family on the world stage, it was clear that they were being exposed as pretenders. Just as Trump tries to play what he thinks a real president is, his family tried to sell their fake rich reality television bottom feeding as royalty.

America doesn’t have a royal family. The White House belongs to the people, and in 2020, it will be time for a ballot box revolution to send the man with delusions of being king back to Trump Tower.
