Mitch McConnell Admits That His Reason For Blocking Merrick Garland Was A Lie

Mitch McConnell admitted that his reason for blocking Merrick Garland was a lie and that he would fill a Supreme Court vacancy for Trump in 2020.

CNN reported:
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Tuesday if a Supreme Court vacancy occurs during next year’s presidential election, he would work to confirm a nominee appointed by President Donald Trump.

Speaking at a Paducah Chamber of Commerce luncheon in Kentucky, McConnell was asked by an attendee, “Should a Supreme Court justice die next year, what will your position be on filling that spot?”

The leader took a long sip of what appeared to be iced tea before announcing with a smile, “Oh, we’d fill it,” triggering loud laughter from the audience.

Mitch McConnell laughs as he spits on the Constitution and abuses his power as Senate Majority Leader.

There is a lesson in McConnell’s statement for those who are eager for impeachment.

If House Democrats impeach Donald Trump, the American people should expect Mitch McConnell squash the charges while allowing the Senate to do the bare minimum to fulfill its constitutional duty.

Trump is the fruit that came from undermining American democracy for Republicans, but it is Mitch McConnell who has been the greatest force for undermining both the legislative process and the constitutional norms of governance.

Donald Trump is a problem, but Mitch McConnell is a plague on democracy.
