Trump ran out of his infrastructure meeting with Democrats after 3 minutes because Nancy Pelosi hurt his feelings.
Pelosi hurt Trump’s feelings
When she and Senator Chuck Schumer arrived at the White House, Mr. Trump was loaded for bear. He walked into the Cabinet Room, did not shake anyone’s hand or sit in his seat, according to a Democrat informed about the meeting. He said he wanted to advance legislation on infrastructure, trade and other matters, but that “Speaker Pelosi said something terrible today and accused me of a cover-up,” according to the Democrat.
After just three minutes, he left the room before anyone else could speak, the Democrat said.
Speaker Pelosi responded by telling Trump to grow a pair
Pelosi’s response wasn’t to soothe or enable the fragile president. She called out Trump for lacking the confidence to handle the challenge of infrastructure. Pelosi told reporters, “For some reason, maybe it was lack of confidence on his part, that he really couldn’t match the greatness of the challenge that we have, wasn’t really respectful of the reason — of the congress and the white house working together. He just took a pass. And it just makes me wonder why he did that. In any event, I pray for the President Of The United States. And I pray for the United States of America.”
Pelosi isn’t going to coddle Trump or make him feel like a big boy. She expects the president to act like a leader, not a tween in junior high.
Trump’s outburst wasn’t about a negotiating position. It was a tantrum because he didn’t like what Nancy Pelosi said.
The snowflake president can’t handle having his feelings hurt.
