Trump responded to Pelosi accusing him of a cover-up by going on national television and melting down in front of the world.
This was all triggered by Speaker Pelosi telling reporters that Trump is engaged in a cover-up.
Trump first responded by claiming that he doesn’t do cover-ups, even though he is an unindicted co-conspirator in the Story Daniels cover-up:

Trump threw a tantrum and said that he wouldn’t do his job until Democrats stop investigating him
Trump said, “So I just wanted to let you know that I walked into the room and I told Senator Schumer, Speaker Pelosi, I want to do infrastructure. I want to do it more than you want to do it. I’d be really good at that. That is what I do. But you know what, you can’t do it under these circumstances. So get these phony investigations over with.”

Trump lost it over Democrats meeting about impeachment
Trump said, “All of a sudden I hear last night they will have a meeting right before this meeting to talk about the I-word. Can you imagine? I don’t speak Russians about when I went to Wisconsin and Michigan and Pennsylvania, I don’t say, oh, let’s call Russia, maybe they can — it is a hoax. The greatest hoax in history.”

All Nancy Pelosi had to do was suggest that Trump is engaged in a cover-up and the president lost his mind. This was all caused by Pelosi and a few well-placed words. Democrats should not rush into impeachment, because the slow drip of investigation is driving Trump mad.
