Trump is in full retreat mode and pretending like Barack Obama never told him in their face to face meeting not to hire Mike Flynn.
‘
The problem is that Trump was told, by none other than the current president at the time, Barack Obama, not to hire Mike Flynn.
NBC News reported, “Former President Obama warned President Donald Trump against hiring Mike Flynn as his national security adviser, three former Obama administration officials tell NBC News. The warning, which has not been previously reported, came less than 48 hours after the November election when the two sat down for a 90-minute conversation in the Oval Office….According to all three former officials, Obama warned Trump against hiring Flynn. The Obama administration fired Flynn in 2014 from his position as head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, largely because of mismanagement and temperament issues.”
Obama told Trump not to hire Flynn. Trump ignored Obama because he’s got the “best brain.” Flynn got indicted, pleaded guilty, and Trump’s lawyers tried to obstruct justice.
Donald Trump knew about Mike Flynn. He didn’t care that he was risking American national security by naming Flynn his national security advisor. It is absurd that Trump is trying to rewrite reality, but it also demonstrates that the Russia scandal continues to haunt Trump long after Mueller has submitted his report. The Russia scandal isn’t going away and will likely follow Trump for the rest of his life to his grave.
