Democrats Get Their Battle Cry: The Easiest Way To Impeach Trump Is To Vote Him Out

Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (D-TX) said that the easiest way to impeach Trump is to vote him out of office next year.

Rep. Gonzalez said on MSNBC:

I believe the American people have spoken. They want to see a complete copy of the Mueller report. Congress overwhelmingly voted, 420-0, asking for a complete copy of the report. That was a bipartisan vote. So members on both sides of the aisle and the American people want to see the full report. Should we go to impeachment proceedings? We have to this of the costly and damaging process that is for our country. We’re just a little over a year until the next election. The easiest impeachment for the president at this point may just be voting him out of office which I believe will happen next November. But we should get to the bottom of this.

We need to bring AG Barr over, talk to Mueller, ask some pointed questions, get to the bottom of what they know, what they found, and ultimately what the American people deserve to know and what to know. Members of Congress have a top secret security clearance. They should be able to see this report even if it’s not made public, the intelligence and judiciary committees should have this report, should be privy to know what’s in it and be ready to ask some pointed questions to people who may be responsible for wrongdoing. As far as going, you know, preaching, asking for an impeachment this early on, I think it’s a little premature. Also, we need to think how far we are from the 2020 election. We’re right around the corner. That might be the easiest way to get rid of the president.

Impeachment is not a fast process

For those who were too young or don’t remember the impeachment process for Bill Clinton took months, and House Republicans had the full Starr report in their possession. Democrats are going to have to sue to get the full Mueller report\ before they can even think about beginning the impeachment process. With an election next year, it is possible that Democrats won’t have enough time to conduct a full investigation, impeach, and try Donald Trump. The fastest and most sure method for getting rid of Trump would be to vote him out.

Impeachment may not work, but voting for a new president next year definitely will.
