Morning Joe Plays Brutal Video of Trump’s Empty Healthcare Promises

MSNBC’s Morning Joe program today played a brutal video montage of Donald Trump making promises about health care that have turned out to be completely false. It points out that none of Trump’s promises can be believed, especially on healthcare.

The video starts back in 2015, shortly after Trump announced he was running for president in 2016. During a “60 Minutes” interview, Trump endorsed the idea of universal health care, which he said set him apart from other Republicans in the race.

“This is an un-Republican thing for me to say… I am going to take care of everybody, I don’t care if it costs me votes or not,” he said.

During an interview two days after winning the presidential election, Trump then insisted that people with preexisting conditions would be taken care of under any health care plan he signs. However, the plan that would later be passed by the GOP House and endorsed by the president would have let each state opt out of giving protections to people with preexisting conditions. This could have taken away health insurance from up to 60 million Americans.

A few months later Trump was mocked for telling reporters that healthcare was “an unbelievably complex subject” and that “nobody knew health care could be so complicated.”

In November of last year Republicans lost control of the House of Representatives thanks to Democrats campaigning against Trump’s failed health care plan.

Even then Trump recently went before reporters and made the outrageous claim that “The Republican Party will soon be known as the party of health care.”

Then last night Trump tweeted that AFTER the 2020 elections he and Republicans in Congress would pass a “really great healthcare plan.”

Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski had this to say about Trump’s latest boasting (which nobody is taking seriously):

“OK, so four years of promises and Donald Trump says he understands health care now. But you won’t see a plan for another 19 months!”

Aaron Rupar attached the video supercut of Trump’s healthcare promises and also tweeted:

“Morning Joe put together a montage of Trump’s 4 years of empty promises about universal health care. (He still doesn’t have a plan…)”

Trump Cannot Be Trusted

This proves that Donald Trump is not only the biggest liar in American political history, but he also lies about matters of life and death that affect everyday Americans. Morning Joe has done us a service by playing this video montage, because it serves to remind us all that nothing Donald Trump says can be trusted.
