Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Leader Chuck Schumer issued a joint statement calling for the FBI and other agencies to launch a criminal and counterintelligence investigation into Trump’s massage parlor madam, Li “Cindy” Yang.
Pelosi and Schumer said in a statement provided to PoliticusUSA, “The facts in this situation are very concerning and we urge Director Wray to adhere to the joint bicameral requests of the Democratic Senate ranking members and Democratic House chairmen and start an investigation.”
The New York Times reported on a scandal that involves campaign finance violations by the Trump campaign involving illegal foreign donations that went through Yang.
In their letter the Democrats make it clear that they see serious criminal and national security concerns:
Since Trump does virtually no vetting on where the cash comes from that flows into his party and campaign, it would not be difficult for the Chinese government to use Yang to compromise Trump. Just like the Russians, the Chinese appear to have been able to take advantage of Trump’s corruption and willingness to take money from anywhere with no questions asked.
Democrats want answers and they are flexing their political muscles to turn up the heat on Trump, because the next major scandal to rock Trump world may have nothing to do Russia, and everything to do with how China also has compromised a US president.
