Sarah Sanders Falls Apart While Claiming That Democrats Hate Jews When She’s Asked About Steve King

Last updated on March 16th, 2019 at 12:11 pm

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders fell apart while she was trying to claim that Democrats hate Jews when she was asked about Trump not condemning Steve King.

Here was the exchange:

Sanders: The president has been unwavering and committed ally to Israel and the Jewish people and frankly the remarks that have been made by a number of Democrats failed to be called out by Democrat leadership is frankly sad. It is something that should be called by name. It should not be put in a watered-down resolution. It should be done the way the Republicans did it when Steve King made terrible comments, we called it out by name and stripped him of his committee memberships.

Jon Karl of ABC News: First of all you mentioned Steve King. Correct me if I am wrong, the president has not condemned Steve King for praising white supremacy. Has the president publicly came out to say anything to criticize or condemn?

Sanders: I have talked about that a number of times and I referred you back to those comments where I used words like aberrant and unacceptable.

As long as Trump is president, Republican have no moral standing on racism and bigotry

The White House is running with the Democrats hate Jews lie because they are trying to divide the Democratic Party while picking up as many votes from their small base as they can in 2020. Sarah Sanders was stopped cold when she was asked why Trump hasn’t condemned Steve King. This White House has no answer for Trump behavior that is thrown back in their faces.

Jon Karl’s follow-up question shows why this administration has essentially stopped doing briefings. They can’t defend or justify Trump, and every time Sarah Sanders is in that room in front of reporters, it backfires on the White House.
