Trump Demands ‘Retribution’ Against NBC for SNL ‘Hit Job’

Donald Trump’s mental state has been questioned many times. Psychologists have analyzed his lack of mental health and raised real concerns about his stability. He has been diagnosed as a sociopath and a narcissist, and it seems that every day he demonstrates these psychological pathologies on Twitter.

This morning the president launched another unhinged attack on the late night comedy show Saturday Night Live (SNL). Not only did he rant about the sketch show as part of “Fake News NBC!” but he also suggested that there be ‘retribution’ against the news network for their ‘total Republican hit jobs.”

Just a short time ago Trump tweeted:

“Nothing funny about tired Saturday Night Live on Fake News NBC! Question is, how do the Networks get away with these total Republican hit jobs without retribution? Likewise for many other shows? Very unfair and should be looked into. This is the real Collusion!”

He later added, “THE RIGGED AND CORRUPT MEDIA IS THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!”

When Trump says there is “Nothing funny about tired Saturday Night Live” what he should say is that there is nothing funny about having a deranged president in the White House. We have a man in charge of the nuclear codes and the entire U.S. military who has proven that he will subvert the U.S. Constitution.

His bogus border wall “emergency” is a heinous attempt on his part to use the armed forces of the United States to serve his own personal political goals. Even Republicans in Congress are aghast at what he is attempting to do with his fake emergency declaration.

Not only that, but when the president says things like “Fake News NBC!” and “the media is the enemy of the people” he is further attempting to erode and even destroy our democratic institutions.

His comments have been shown to incite violence against news reporters. Perhaps now we are entering more dangerous territory: he is asking for ‘retribution’ against the networks who have given him critical coverage. What does this mean? Does he want his mentally unstable followers to attack network personnel? Or does he want government officials to seek ‘retribution’ against the free press for exercising their constitutional rights?

Never before has it been more important that we have a free press who stands up against a man who appears to want to become a dictator like his friends in Russia, North Korea and the Philippines.

And never has it been more important that we have TV shows like Saturday Night Live to give us the light of comedy during these very dark times.
