Pelosi Wins As Humiliated Trump Will Cave And End Shutdown With No Wall

Last updated on September 25th, 2023 at 08:50 pm

Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer handed Trump a massive defeat as the president caved and agreed to reopen the government without money for his wall.

Before Trump was supposed to speak from the Rose Garden, The Washington Post reported:

Congressional leaders and President Trump have reached a tentative deal to temporarily reopen the government and continue talks on Trump’s demand for border wall money, Capitol Hill officials said Friday.

With Trump’s approval, the pact would reopen shuttered government departments for the three weeks while leaving the issue of $5.7 billion for the U.S.-Mexico border wall to further talks.

Pelosi humiliated Trump on the shutdown

The deal that Congress struck was Nancy Pelosi’s deal. Democrats have been calling for the government to be reopened before negotiations could take place. Yesterday, Trump demanded a downpayment for his wall that Speaker Pelosi immediately shot down . Trump’s rhetoric went nowhere. He couldn’t convince Congress, and he couldn’t convince the American people to support his wall.

Nancy Pelosi won. The Speaker of the House won on the State Of The Union, and she won on the government shutdown.

This is a humiliating defeat for Trump who spent a month promising that he would not open the government without money for his wall. Trump tried to take federal workers hostage, but Democrats were more unified than Republicans. Democrats stood together and held their ground.

In the end, Trump couldn’t hold Republicans together and in the end, the crumbled under the pressure of the shutdown that Trump caused.

This is a massive victory for Democrats, and a total crushing of Donald Trump.
