With Democrats set to take back power in the House, Fox News has returned to one of its favorite tricks, blaming Democrats for Republican failures.
Charles Payne said on Fox News, “I think it’s the tone. You know, the very next day the market was up. But since then, the tone of Democrats, who have declared war on President Trump, I think have been a real negative wave for the market. Particularly, I think Americans want to see legislation, not more investigations. You know, I don’t think they want to see Maxine Waters spending a whole lot of time digging up dirt on Deutsche Bank when people are trying to, you know, live their lives.”

There is no single reason why the market is falling, but a few of the big ones include Trump’s trade war, the market was always an overinflated bubble, rising interest rates, and growing signs of a looming recession.
The stock market drop has nothing to do with Democrats winning the House. During the Obama presidency, Fox News was famous for blaming Obama for everything. Replace Obama with Nancy Pelosi and you have the Fox News playbook for the next two years. It is absurd to blame Democrats for the stock market drop. Nearly two years of Trump policy and a bubble bursting are some good reasons why the market is falling.
Democrats aren’t in control of the House yet, and even when they are, they will not be able to make policy that could impact the market without Republican support.
The whole argument is a nonsensical excuse for increasing failure of the Trump presidency.
