Unelected Melania Trump Is Influencing National Security Policy

Melania Trump’s call for a senior national security staffer to be fired means that an unelected First Lady is making policy.

“It is the position of the Office of the First Lady that (Ricardel) no longer deserves the honor of serving in this White House,” the first lady’s comm director Stephanie Grisham said in a statement.

Mrs. Trump wants deputy national security adviser Mira Ricardel fired due to a fight over airplane seating, “The president became involved in that decision at the urging of Mrs. Trump, whose staff battled with Ms. Ricardel during the first lady’s trip to Africa last month over seating on the plane and requests to use National Security Council resources, according to people familiar with the matter.”

A non-elected person who was so unoriginal that she had to steal from Michelle Obama on numerous occasions is making personnel decisions that influence national security. The American people no longer have a president. They have a cheap small time cable TV reality show operating the White House.

Melania Trump shouldn’t be influencing any West Wing staffing decisions in a formal and public way. The American people didn’t elect Melania Trump. She has no official power, and if Michelle Obama or Hillary Clinton had been issuing public statements calling for the removal of national security staff, Republicans would have lost their minds.

The Trump administration is completely out control, and the country will be better off the very second that the entire Real Housewives of Trump Tower cast is sent packing and the nation can get back to the business of governing.
