Adam Schiff Warns Matthew Whitaker That He Can’t Hide

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), the incoming chair of the House Intelligence Committee warned Trump‘s installed attorney general Matthew Whitaker that he would not be able to hide if he tries to do Trump‘s bidding.

Adam Schiff said on MSNBC‘s The Last Word with Laurence O’Donnell:

It’s very important, I think, to get that message out before he does any damage to the Mueller investigation or tries but also if he doesn’t recuse himself and he were to think that any conversations he had with the president, any promises he made to the president in order to get the position about whether he would follow or ignore the advice of the ethics lawyers at the Justice Department, he has to know that this is going to come out. There’s going to be no hiding this. And he will be called to answer.

That, I think, I hope will be an incentive to get an ethics opinion and to follow it. But as you point out, there are even broader problems with this appointment than this one investigation as serious as that is, and that is that the appointment itself looks like it violates the constitution’s requirement that the Senate have a role in confirming anyone as a principal officer, including the attorney general, temporary or not, as a principal officer.

Adam Schiff is on to Trump’s plan to sabotage Mueller

The message being sent by Rep. Schiff was clear. He is not only watching Whitaker and Trump, but he is on to Trump‘s plan. Everyone that Trump picked Whitaker to do his bidding in shutting down the Mueller investigation. Trump has been complaining for nearly two years that he wants an attorney general who will be loyal and protect him.

Adam Schiff is going to move heaven and earth to protect the rule of law and the integrity of the Department of Justice. Trump‘s plan has already fallen apart as Rep. has made it clear that there will be dire consequences for both Trump and Whitaker if they mess with Mueller.
