Florida Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum has walked back his concession of defeat as more ballots are left to be counted.

The Gillum campaign said in a statement, “On Tuesday night, the Gillum for Governor campaign operated with the best information available about the number of outstanding ballots left to count,” the statement read. “Since that time, it has become clear there are many more uncounted ballots than was originally reported. Our campaign, along with our attorney Barry Richard, is monitoring the situation closely and is ready for an outcome, including a state-mandated recount.”

DeSantis’s lead has fallen under the half of a percent threshold for a recount in Florida. With more ballots left to be counted, the Gillum campaign would have to be crazy not to fight for every single vote to be counted.

A New Generation Of Democrats Are Fighting For Every Vote

Andrew Gillum and Stacey Abrams are part of a new generation of Democrats who are not going to sit back and accept defeat. These Democrats are working to change the South and they fighting tooth and nail to make sure that every single vote that was cast gets counted. Republicans used every trick available to try to suppress the vote, so it is heartwarming and uplifting to see Democrats fighting back and not giving up.

This is not the same old Democratic Party. Democrats now understand the stakes in these elections, and they aren’t going to roll over and let Trump allies like Ron DeSantis and Brian Kemp assume power.

In the face of Trump extremism, the Democratic Party is developing a spine of steel and iron will, as the next generation of Democratic stars in unrelenting in the effort to take their country back.
