Beto O’Rourke Shuts Down Trump’s Trolling In 30 Seconds

Democratic Texas Senate candidate Rep. Beto O’Rourke had the perfect answer to Trump’s trolling and shut the president down in less than half a minute.

O’Rourke was asked about Trump’s taunting and trolling on ABC’s This Week, and he answered, “I don’t know that it makes any sense to respond. I think the kind of bitterness and name calling and partisanship that has unfortunately defined so much of the national conversation, you can add more to it or you can stay focused on the future and why you did this in the first place. That’s what we’ve chosen to do in this campaign.”

Beto O’Rourke demonstrated why Trump’s tactics are backfiring

Trump’s tactics aren’t working and might be hurting Republicans who are on the ballot because it plays into the hands of Democratic candidates like Beto O’Rourke. Democrats are campaigning on issues that matter to voters in their districts and states. Democrats are running in the midterm, like what it really is, a series of local and state elections.

O’Rourke isn’t going to get suckered into the nationalization of race. Trump wants to trade insults because when people are playing his reality TV tabloid game, they aren’t talking about healthcare, rising prices, and the tax cuts for the rich that are leaving more and more people behind.

Democrats around the country aren’t playing these Trumpian games. They are going around the country and reminding voters that while Republicans are the party of and for Trump, they are the party of the people, and like Beto O’Rourke, they will represent the people, not the interests of this president.

It is an argument that is working, as an angry electorate is looking for their voice to be heard, and Democrats are campaigning to be that voice in Congress, governors’ mansions, and state legislatures around the country.
