Avenatti Posts Link to Swetnick Interview; Demands She Be Allowed to Testify

Last updated on September 30th, 2018 at 01:46 pm

Julie Swetnick, the third woman to accuse Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, is being represented by Michael Avenatti . After releasing her sworn statement yesterday, Avenatti went on Twitter this morning and posted some very important additional information.

First of all, he posted the link to the first public interview given by Swetnick, wherein she discusses her experiences and her feelings about Kavanaugh. This is the first time a Kavanaugh accuser has appeared on camera.

“Please watch this. It is 100 percent honest. Julie is incredibly brave. And the analysis that follows it is spot on and consistent with what we have been demanding.”

In the interview Ms. Swetnick says that she does not believe Brett Kavanaugh belongs on the Supreme Court, based on her first-hand experiences with him. She also said, “I just want the facts to come out.”

Swetnick claims that Kavanaugh attended a party where she was drugged with “Quaaludes or something similar” and attacked by a series of men in a “gang rape.”

In a subsequent tweet, Avenatti attached a copy of the email he sent this morning to the Senate Judiciary Committee. He is demanding his client be allowed to testify before the committee. He also requests an FBI investigation, polygraph exams for his client and Kavanaugh, and sworn testimony from Mark Judge.

“My client Julie Swetnick is again demanding the opportunity to testify before the Committee and that an FBI investigation be launched immediately. Here is my detailed email to the Committee moments ago. This must be a search for the truth.”

Yesterday the prominent attorney spoke at length about his client and what she is going through. He said his client is much more credible than the senators on the Judiciary Committee.

In an interview with Hill.TV Avenatti said:

“This is another strong, courageous woman who feels incredibly strong about her convictions and her allegations. I’m looking forward to putting her credibility up against people like Donald Trump, Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), Brett Kavanaugh, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), and others. All of the privileged white guys that want to come after my client and cast aspersions against her and me. I’m looking forward to doing battle with every one of them.”

As always, Avenatti is playing to the public and to the media, as much as he is to the U.S. Senate. He knows that senators on their own will ignore him and his client. However he also knows that with elections coming up at least some GOP senators might be persuadable, and decide that the assault allegations against Kavanaugh disqualify him from being on the Supreme Court.
