Top Judiciary Democrat Issues Dire Warning To Trump To Back Off Of Rod Rosenstein

Last updated on September 24th, 2018 at 06:41 am

The top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) warned Trump that any action he takes against Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein would be viewed as obstruction of justice.

Video:

Nadler said on MSNBC‘s The Beat with Ari Melber, “We know that Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein is the lead person in charge of the investigation into the president colluding with the Russians and trying to rig an American election. We know that he’s supervising Special Counsel Mueller. We know that he was instrumental in instigating the investigation into the president for obstruction of justice. We know, the president has told us that he wanted to get rid of Rosenstein, essentially to get rid of that investigation, and if he were to move against Rosenstein now on any pretext that would certainly be further evidence of his participation in an obstruction of justice, because it would be clearly designed to interfere with independence and maybe even the existence of these essential investigations.”

Trump has shown that he fears impeachment

Trump has constantly walked up the line on the Russia investigation, but backed off when he was warned by Congress because he fears being impeached. Trump tried to declassify documents related to the Russia investigation, and only backed off when he was warned of the dire consequences that were waiting for him if he followed through.

Donald Trump doesn’t care about the Constitution or the country. He is in it only for himself. The best way for Democrats to make sure that Trump doesn’t cross the line is to be constantly watching and warning him.

If Trump tries to fire Rod Rosenstein, he is going to be impeached. Trump would only motivate voters to give Democrats control of the Senate if he moved against the man overseeing the Russia investigation.

Trump fears impeachment, which warnings like those issued by Rep. Nader carry such great significance.
