Protesters Storm Capitol Hill And Get Arrested for Demonstrating Against Brett Kavanaugh

In case you think no one is protesting Donald Trump‘s Supreme Court nominee, I’m here to show you otherwise. Last night #KremlinAnnex protesters did their ongoing thing with a sign saying they believe Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and calling the White House “AMORAL.”

On Capitol Hill, protesters are making their feelings known on Thursday and getting arrested for it:

I know. You remember when CNN ran to cover three Tea Partiers lounging over their fold up chairs wearing awful hats, so you wonder why this isn’t being covered as much.

I have no answer for you, other than to remind you that Republicans lobbied to change the wording from victim to accuser regarding rape and domestic violence, and now that’s what we do. We don’t call Kavanaugh “The ACCUSED” in headlines, as a reader wrote to me in response to my article on this topic. But we call her “THE ACCUSER,” in Handmaid’s Tale style.

As much as conservatives and Republicans whine about liberal media bias and claim they’re being stifled by social media just because Alex Jones’ conspiracy theories were shown the door doesn’t mean it’s actually true. The truth is that conservative complaints get more headlines. Maybe it’s their weird costumes (the p*ssy hats got a lot of eyeballs as well). Maybe it’s that they are usually aligned with corporate interests.

Maybe liberals and Democrats are still seen through the lens of the 60s, instead of the modern day lens where actually, they are more in step with the majority of the country. Whatever the reason, people are speaking up. If you’re disturbed by what Republicans are doing with this nominee, you are not alone.
