A Reuters/Ipsos poll taken September 11-17 found that only 31% of Americans are in favor of Kavanaugh‘s appointment, with 36% being opposed, which is up 6 points from last month, making him the among the lowest-supported nominees to be later confirmed, according to Gallup.
Only 64% of Republicans are in favor of Kavanaugh‘s nomination.
The number of women who oppose Kavanaugh‘s opposition is up 7 points from a month earlier, to 33% opposed now.

Kavanaugh has lost 6 points among adults and 7 points among women in a month. That doesn’t bode well for Republicans, especially if they line up with their all male members of the Senate Judiciary to question Kavanaugh‘s accuser, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, without so much as investigating her claims or allowing her any witnesses, which is their current plan. Oh, but they’re going to have their female staffers ask the questions, to avoid bad optics.
Republicans are branding themselves as the rape party for a generation, not just because of Kavanaugh, but this is the last straw for women after the last decade of lemonade rape, not real rape, refusing to fund the Violence Against Women Act, Republicans backing alleged child sexual predators and more.
