Christine Ford Told Friend in 2017 About Kavanaugh Sexual Assault

A newspaper in Silicon Valley, California is reporting this morning that a close friend of Christine Blasey Ford claims she told her about her sexual assault in 2017 after her friend went public about her own rape in a Facebook post.

Ford of course is the accuser of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, claiming he sexually assaulted her at a party when they both were in high school.

According to the Mercury News, Rebecca White – one of Blasey Ford’s neighbors and a close friend — said that at the height of the #MeToo movement she went on Facebook and revealed her personal story of sexual assault when she was a teenager.

“She reached out to me afterward, supporting me and my story and that she had something happen to her when she was really young and that the guy was a federal judge,” White recalled. “She said she had been assaulted. She said hers had been violent as well, physically scary, fighting for her life.”

Another friend said that Blasey Ford lamented what would happen to her if she went public.

“I’ve been trying to forget this all my life, and now I’m supposed to remember every little detail,” Jim Gensheimer said Blasey Ford told him as she watched her kids participate in a Junior Lifeguard program. “They’re going to be all over me.”

According to the report, Ford confidante Kirsten Leimroth was also there when she talked about going public with the news about Kavanaugh assaulting her.

Leimroth said Ford brought up the attack at a July lunch, stating that she had been “almost raped by a high school acquaintance.”

“There’s absolutely no way it’s made up. She can’t even go home,” Leimroth said Monday night. “She had to have her kids stay somewhere else. She had to shut down all social media. Why would she do that?”
