On “Morning Joe” this morning co-host Joe Scarborough told his viewers a story, reminding them that President Donald Trump reacted to the 9/11 terrorist attacks in a way that proved without a doubt he was not fit to be President of the United States.

After the twin towers fell that day, Donald Trump used the opportunity to do two things which he is famous for:
- He bragged about himself, and
- He lied.
Scarborough said he remembered very well Trump’s reaction to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, which were the tallest buildings in New York City.
“It had to be a sober day for him,” Scarborough recalled. “It was so sober that in an interview, do you remember what he said?”
Scarborough was then interrupted by co-host Willie Geist who remembered what happened, and finished the story.
“Donald Trump called into WWOR radio and he said, ‘I guess my building is the tallest now,’” Geist told the panel.
Scarborough said these twin traits of Trump’s — the boasting and the lying — were in evidence on Monday as well as that fateful day 17 years ago. He reminded his viewers that yesterday Trump had tweeted two lies about the economy which were later corrected by both the White House and Fox News. As usual, he was bragging about himself but he got his facts wrong.
“As the Twin Towers fell, Donald Trump chose that moment to say, ‘Well, I guess my buildings are the tallest now,’” Scarborough said. “He was, of course, not only extraordinarily insensitive and boorish, he was, as he is today, wrong.”
And Trump’s insensitive behavior has continued this morning as he began the day attacking the FBI and Hillary Clinton before mentioning the first responders from 9/11.

This is similar to his boorish behavior one year ago when he talked through a moment of silence to honor the 9/11 victims.
Even though Donald Trump will go through some 9/11 commemorative ceremonies today — because his staff will tell him he must do it — that doesn’t mean his heart is in it. For a sociopathic narcissist the only interesting topic is himself.
That’s why on this somber day he started off by tweeting his same old defense which just makes him look crazy
“We have found nothing to show collusion between President Trump & Russia, absolutely zero, but every day we get more documentation showing collusion between the FBI & DOJ, the Hillary campaign, foreign spies & Russians, incredible.” @SaraCarterDC @LouDobbs

This is not the kind of man we should have as president. He is obsessed with trying to make the FBI and Hillary Clinton look bad, to deflect attention away from his own bad behavior.
Everyone knows it won’t work, and his approval ratings are dropping to some of the lowest in history. We didn’t need it, but Trump‘s actions today serve as a reminder that he is totally unfit to be President of the United States.
