National Enquirer Vault Could Have Evidence Of Trump Paying Women To Get Abortions

The National Enquirer safe, which could very well be in the hands of federal prosecutors, may have evidence that Donald Trump paid women to get abortions.

In an interview with MSNBC‘s Chris Hayes, investigative journalist David Cay Johnston said he knows of several instances in which Trump was connected to an abortion.

“There are women whose names I know who are not willing to come forward because it would be difficult,” Johnston said.

David Cay Johnston said:

Let’s remember that Donald actively pursued the wives of a number of people he did business with. He would invite women to his office and then get their husbands on the phone to talk about their dalliances as part of his rather unusual seduction technique. And some of those women no doubt are very concerned about what may come out of that vault and I think it is almost certain, if we had a complete record of Donald’s dalliances and his payoffs to keep them quiet, that we would turn up abortions. That would raise real serious problems with a portion of his base who are absolutely adamant about that issue. … There are women whose names I know who are not willing to come forward because it would be difficult for them.

No wonder Trump fought for the vault’s contents

The more we learn about what Trump could be hiding in the National Enquirer safe, the more obvious it is why he fought so hard to keep it shut. As The New York Times reported on Thursday, Trump tried to buy decades of dirt that the tabloid had buried for him.

According to the report, “[Trump] and his lawyer at the time, Michael D. Cohen, devised a plan to buy up all the dirt on Mr. Trump that the National Enquirer and its parent company had collected on him, dating back to the 1980s, according to several of Mr. Trump’s associates.”

Unfortunately for Trump, the deal between Cohen and the National Enquirer was never finalized. Now, with the tabloid’s chief David Pecker having flipped on the president, there’s a good chance all of these documents confirming Trump‘s payoffs are in the hands of investigators.

As David Cay Johnston said on Thursday, this could reveal that Trump‘s past as a serial adulterer and womanizer could go well beyond the payoffs we already knew about.

While it’s unclear if his base of supporters – those who claim to be values voters – would even flinch if this damning information came to light, it would only confirm what the rest of us already knew about the character of the 45th president.

Donald Trump isn’t just a crook in his business and political endeavors. He’s a slimeball in his personal life, too.
