Trump Calls Omarosa a “Dog” In Brutal Morning Twitter Attack

President Donald Trump unleashed one of his most brutal tweetstorms ever this morning as he tried to make headlines in advance of the release of a new “tell all” book from former White House adviser Omarosa Manigault Newman. In a tweet he referred to the black woman as a “dog.”

President Trump calls former White House staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman a “dog”

Trump’s tweet was immediately condemned throughout the Twitter universe by all but his most hardcore racist and white nationalist supporters.

CNN analyst Jeffrey Toobin pointed out that Trump has a very long history of attacking black people, and that is a core feature of his political appeal and a cause of his ascendancy to the White House.

“Who does the President attack on Twitter constantly? … It’s always black people … The entire basis for Donald Trump’s political career is his racist attack on Barack Obama … The tweet today calling Omarosa a ‘dog’ is just part of that story” —@JeffreyToobin

Another black woman who Trump has a history of insulting in racially insensitive ways lashed out at the president very quickly.

“Democratic Rep. Frederica Wilson slams President Trump for calling Omarosa Manigault Newman a “dog” in a tweet: “How dare he? How dare he call anyone a dog?”

Not only did the president’s tweet refer to Omarosa as a “dog” but it also referenced some of the other insults he has been hurling at her in recent days. She has been on a promotional tour for her book which comes out today in which she criticizes Trump and reveals some of his darkest secrets. Today he once again called her “a crazed, crying lowlife.”

“When you give a crazed, crying lowlife a break, and give her a job at the White House, I guess it just didn’t work out. Good work by General Kelly for quickly firing that dog!”

Nobody should be surprised at what Trump does or says anymore, especially when it comes to insulting people. Still, referring to a woman as a dog is particularly low and demeaning, given the other often-used term for a female dog.

Trump probably thinks that tweets like this morning’s solidify his political “base” but it appears more likely that it will continue to alienate the vast majority of American voters and lead to big Republican losses in this year’s midterm elections.
