Fox News host Jeanine Pirro introduced a totally crazy new theory about special prosecutor Bob Mueller during her Saturday night show. She said that the highly respected special counsel and former FBI Director is actually a criminal who will soon need his own attorney. She accused the straight-laced Mueller of taking money from a Russian billionaire, apparently in exchange for his investigation of President Donald Trump.
Speaking directly to the special counsel Pirro said:
“Bob, I really think it’s time to give up your phony investigation and get yourself your own criminal defense attorney.”
She started off her show telling Mueller he should drop the Russia probe.
“@JudgeJeanine to Special Counsel Mueller: “How could you possibly be investigating Donald Trump when there is absolutely no credible basis for your investigation?”
And this morning, to no one’s surprise, the President of the United States decided to weigh in on this important topic, tweeting:
“.@JudgeJeanine “Bob Mueller, isn’t your whole investigation premised on a Fake Dossier, paid for by Hillary, created by a man who hates Donald Trump, & used to con a FISA Court Judge. Bob, I really think it’s time for you to give up your phony investigation.” No Collusion!”
Pirro’s had begun her show with a monologue claiming that the Mueller investigation was a fraud, ignoring the fact it has yielded dozens of indictments and several guilty pleas.
“Are you using the Christopher Steele fake dossier as the basis of your investigation?” Pirro asked, apparently forgetting about the fact that Donald Trump Jr. discussed getting “dirt” on Hillary Clinton through Kremlin agents.
Pirro really went out of control after she began to talk about Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska, who she accused of funding an FBI operation. Right-wing media, for no logical reason, has been promoting the theory that dossier author Christopher Steele was “advocating” for the oligarch who has a relationship with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
“Why would you ask for millions of dollars from a Russian oligarch banned from the United States to fund an FBI operation?” she said, addressing Mueller. Then she went on:
“Should you have even asked the oligarch for tens of millions of dollars and for his services. Because that’s a crime, isn’t it Bob? I’m sure you know the anti-deficiency act prohibits you, as a government agency, from accepting voluntary services. and if it came out that you took money, Bob, from a Russian oligarch whose name you intentionally left out of Manafort’s indictment, that would be an embarrassment, wouldn’t it?”
It was unclear what Pirro was talking about during her unhinged rant. Of course, with Pirro andTrump, their goal is not to make sense but to make baseless accusations, muddy the waters, create confusion, and undermine legitimate law enforcement investigations.
Cynics have noticed that ever since she had a new book to promote she has been doing everything possible to get in Donald Trump’s good graces, with the hope that he will promote the book and help her book sales.
The sad thing, no matter how crazy her rantings really are, her strategy will probably work. Donald Trump has shown he will publicly praise anyone who says positive things about him, no matter how untrue they are. Her rantings may benefit her book sales but they will not help Donald Trump escape his legal problems, which are mounting every day.
